| Oh, Reba, you share my sentiments.
"Somebody" ~ Reba McEntire
At a diner down on Broadway they make small talk
When she brings his eggs and fills his coffee cup
He jokes about his love life
And tells her he's 'bout ready to give up
That's when she says,"I've been there before
Keep on lookin'
'Cause maybe who you're lookin' for is..."
Somebody in the next car
Somebody on the morning train
Somebody in the coffee shop
That you walk right by everyday
Somebody that you look at
But never really see
Somewhere out there is somebody
Across town in a crowded elevator
He can't forget the things that waitress said
He usually reads the paper
But today he reads a stranger's face instead
It's that blue-eyed girl
From two floors up
Maybe she's the one
Maybe he could fall in love with
Somebody in the next car
Somebody on the morning train
Somebody in the coffee shop
That you walk right by everyday
Somebody that you look at
But never really see
Somewhere out there
Is somebody
Now they laugh about the moment that it happened
A moment they'd both missed until that day
When he saw his future in her eyes
Instead of just another friendly face
And he wonders why
He searched so long
When she was always there at that diner waiting on
Somebody in the next car
Somebody on the morning train
Somebody in the coffee shop
That you walk right by everyday
Somebody that you look at
But never really see
Somewhere out there
Oh somewhere out there is somebody

| I love the random people that show up in our lives and show us that the world really does have so much good in it.
Since starting to work at the law school, I've encountered different security officers... one politely kind, one sweet, one who just wants to rush me, along with everyone else, out when 2am comes around. For the past few weeks, though, this particular security officer has just made my Saturday nights that much easier.
He would always come up to my desk at around 11:30pm with a smile and a "Well... I'm here" just to let me know that he's there. Around 1:45am, a little before closing time, he'd take a little tour around the library to see if anyone is still on the 4th and 5th floors. Oftentimes there isn't anyone left up there, so when he comes around to let me know, I wouldn't have to make the rounds like I usually do... I can just go through floor 3, and I'm done. He seems a little shy and is very pleasant, too.

The other day, I was coming back to campus on a CTTransit bus, and I asked the bus driver if he could stop at Elm and High because I'm never quite sure when I should pull the yellow wire thing. He turns to me and gruffly goes...
"Oh, so you think I should stop there just because you want to get off there?"
Me, slightly setback..."Umm... no... sorry, it's just that I'm not sure where the bus can stop... it's okay, you don't have to stop there, Elm and York works, too."
"I'll stop there for you, even though I'm not supposed to."
"Oh, it's ok. Really. Elm and York works."
"No, I'll stop, just so you can say that 'once, the bus driver stopped for you.' Just don't tell my boss, alright?"
He never once cracked a smile either. ^^ What a kind old soul.

| I've decided that it is well and good to follow my heart provided that I'm asking my Heavenly Father to be the Lord of it.
Tomorrow will be a good day. :)

| I was waiting to speak to a lady at the hospital yesterday, when I saw this lady, dressed in an elegant black coat, go up to the secretary nearby to ask about how she might help out at the hospital. As she spoke and asked questions, I couldn't help but stare and gawk happily at her back because she had the sweetest southern accent that I've heard in a long time... it felt like home.
I think growing up in the midwest/south has affected me in small but deep ways. Last semester, a kind old lady at church gave me a big bear hug, and she had this fragrance about her that was so warm and familiar... it left an impression of something like old school teachers, warm southern nights, and sweet magnolia.
A song from Esther Chu. Cute! ^^
"Dance" ~ Derek Webb
My name is Mary and I'm from Greenville, Mississippi
But this is where I live here in this old folks' dormitory
Every Sunday night Sarah comes to see us
And she plays that old upright
But Sarah always seems to leave us
When she plays something comes over me
Goes from my head all the way to my feet
And I wanna dance
I wanna snap my fingers all night long and dance
I wanna move around the room just like a woman in a trance
All night, I wanna dance
I wanna wrap my arms around your neck and dance
I wanna listen to the music that's been ringing in my ears
And one day I'm gonna dance my way right outta here
I had three girls and a boy but now one's gone up to Heaven
She's with her papa now 'cause he left for lack of penicillin
The older that I get I figure everyone is dying
They're all dying for a change
I know I'm dying for some action
But days like these Sunday seems so far away
So until then I'm gonna sit right here and here I'll stay
I wanna dance
I wanna snap my fingers all night long and dance
I wanna move around the room just like a woman in a trance
All night, I wanna dance
I wanna wrap my arms around your neck and dance
I wanna listen to the music that's been ringing in my ears
And one day I'm gonna dance my way right outta here
I'd marry you, if you could dance, that's what I said
'Cause where I'm going there'll be dancing everyday
